We need to not only hear what other people are saying, we need to take time to listen with our hearts. Here is an excerpt from my book, “OK, God, Let’s Start From Here”
Listening is not just hearing with your ears. It is hearing with you heart. Understanding comes with true listening. Sometimes we spend too much time talking, and we don’t listen enough. Wars can be started with words, but avoided with listening. When we truly put others first, then we can learn more about who they are and who we need to be in Christ. We can learn what they need so we can help them in their journey with God. We are meant to edify others only, not to speak harsh words and hurt others.
